INTERNATIONAL INSTRUMENTS
International conventions and treaties relating to the nuclear field ratified and/or signed by Algeria
Like other countries, Algeria is required to strictly comply with its international obligations and commitments, with the objectives of nuclear non-proliferation and to apply the criteria for physical protection and control of imports and exports of nuclear materials, equipment and technologies.
These commitments are reflected in its adherence to the main international legal instruments – binding and non-binding – in particular those of which the IAEA is the depositary.
The statutory mission of COMENA in relation to the State’s international commitments is to ensure, in liaison with the institutions concerned, the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of commitments arising from the State’s obligations in terms of regional and international agreements in the field of atomic energy.
