RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES
Nuclear and radiological safety
Development and implementation of comprehensive safety measures, adherence to regulatory standards, and formulation of safety norms.
The main activities in this field relate to :
- The Nuclear Safety Analyses, through the implementation of a numerical simulation platform;
- The Radiological monitoring of the national territory, through the implementation of a monitoring program,
- The preparedness for radiological and nuclear emergencies,
- The implementation of a national radioactive waste management policy,
- The dosimetric assessment of workers, patients and the public.
In radiological physics, environmental sciences and medical physics, research activities relate to the radiological assessment of exposure to ionizing radiation, and to medical physics applications in the fields of diagnostics, radiotherapy and nuclear medicine.
