










On Monday, October 6, 2025, the Atomic Energy Commissioner, Dr. Abdelhamid MELLAH, officially opened the Postgraduate Educational Course in Radiation Protection and the Safety of Radiation Sources (PGEC) at the Nuclear Research Center of Algiers, in the presence of the President of the National Nuclear Safety and Security Authority, Mr. Rachedi MENADI, and the representative of the Division of Radiological Safety and Transport and Waste Safety of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mr. Hilaire MANSOUX (via videoconference), as well as officials from the Atomic Energy Commission (COMENA) and its nuclear research centers.
The seventh edition of the Postgraduate Educational Course in Radiation Protection and the Safety of Radiation Sources (PGEC), organized by the Nuclear Research Center of Algiers from October 5, 2025, to March 26, 2026, brings together twenty-three (23) participants from twelve (12) African countries: Algeria, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, the Comoros Islands, Madagascar, Mauritania, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Chad, and Togo.
